Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of our most common frequently asked questions. However if you can't find the answers to your question there, then you can always contact us and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

  • Q: My key has snapped inside my locking wheel nut, can you still help?
A: Yes, we guarantee to remove ANY locking wheel nut or locking wheel bolt from ANY vehicle. We can remove them even if a key is snapped inside them or any other damage.
  • Q: I have a Citroen/Peugeot and I have heard that these types of locking wheel nuts are impossible to remove?
A: We deal with these types of locking wheel nuts on a daily basis, like all other locking wheel nuts we guarantee to remove these also, with no damage!
  • Q: What area do you cover for your mobile service?
A: We are always expanding our coverage and currently cover most parts of the UK, so give us a call and we will let you know if we can attend your specific area. Alternatively click the link below and have a look at our interactive map.
  • Q: Do I need to be present at the vehicle, while you remove the locking wheel nuts?
A: No, we go out to customers on a daily basis where they are busy doing other things. We can remove your locking wheel nuts for you without you being present, so you can get on with the more important things in life, while we handle the rest.
  • Q: I have a Jaguar/LandRover and my standard wheel nuts have snapped?
A: This is a common problem on all Jaguar/LandRover vehicles due to a poor design of the wheel nuts. Because of how common this is, we have designed our own special tools for when your Jaguar or Land Rover wheel nuts snap. We can successfully remove your snapped Jaguar wheel nuts in minutes without causing any unnecessary damage to your expensive alloys. We have also designed and manufactured our own replacement wheel nuts to replace your snapped Jaguar wheel nuts. Our Jaguar wheel nuts do not suffer from this design flaw and will not snap like the original wheel nuts do.
  • Q: How much does your service cost?
A: This all depends on how many locking wheel nuts are needed to be removed, and if you require a mobile service (as this costs more). It would also depend if the locking wheel nuts have been damaged or are over tightened etc, but we have set up a dedicated "pricing" page on our website which explains more. Alternatively you can call us and we'll be happy to price your job up for you, once we have all the details of your situation.
  • Q: Can I just turn up to a branch and have my locking wheel nuts removed?
A: Unfortunately not. We do not currently provide a walk-in service. All services must be prior booked. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you would like to book our service then please give us a call on 0800 772 3862.
  • Q: I have watched someone remove a locking wheel nut online, why should I use your service?
A: The techniques you see online will fail 99% of the time. Most modern locking wheel nuts now consist of a spinning outer collar, or other advanced security feature, this makes DIY removals impossible. We do not recommend you attempt to remove the locking wheel nut yourself as it will cause more damage to the nut and possibly the wheel (alloy) making the cost of removal more expensive. We can however also remove stuck sockets from locking wheel nuts for people who watch too much YouTube.
  • Q: Do I need to bring my own replacement locking wheel nuts with me?
A: No, this is not necessary. You are more than welcome to bring your own locking wheel nuts which we will fit free of charge, however, we stock a wide range of genuine locking wheel nuts and standard wheel nuts, and our price is usually cheaper than the dealership due to us buying them in bulk. Please ensure you book your replacement nuts/bolts with your locking wheel nut removal service to ensure availability, as we do sell out rather quickly.
  • Q: How long does it take to remove locking wheel nuts?
A: On average we can remove all four locking wheel nuts in under 15 minutes, as long as they are not highly over tightened or badly damaged, as this may sometimes add to the time taken to remove the locking nuts.
  • Q: What techniques do you use to remove locking wheel nuts?
A: We use our own custom made tools to remove your locking wheel nuts. Over the years we have managed to design and manufacture our own tooling to successfully remove all types of locking wheel nuts and locking wheel bolts. This is why we have a 100% success rate for over 10 years! We are the ONLY company with our tooling and our tools are made right here in the UK.
  • Q: I have spoken to another locking wheel nut expert who states he can remove them for me, why should I choose you?
A: Here at Locking Wheel Nut Removal, we can remove any locking wheel nut from any vehicle without causing any damage to your wheels. As we have seen countless times before, other companies offering similar services will cause damage and fail to remove the locking wheel nut, resulting in additional costs for you to pay and may even still charge you for their failed attempt. Remember it is always cheaper to do the job right the first time. So why would you choose anyone else?
  • Q: Where can you carry out your mobile service?
A: We can do our mobile locking wheel nut removal service practically anywhere. At your home, work, roadside, local garage or anywhere in-between. Our in-house built custom tooling means we can remove your locking wheel nuts at any location.
  • Q. I have feedback or would like to make a complaint?
    A. We welcome all feedback good or bad. You can contact our customer service team by e-mailing: cs@wfrecoverygroup.co.uk. We aim to respond to all emails within 48 hours, however in some cases this may be longer.
  • Q: Someone else has been out to me and damaged my locking wheel nuts, can you still remove them?
A: Yes, we guarantee to remove ANY locking wheel nut or locking wheel bolt from ANY vehicle. Even if someone else has attended and failed to remove them, we will still guarantee removal. There may be additional costs for the added time it may take us, but we will still get them off. Guaranteed!
  • Q: Do you ever resort to destructive techniques that will damage my wheel?
A: We will never resort to drastic techniques that will destroy your wheel. This is never an option regardless of what you have been told elsewhere. We guarantee removal with no collateral damage to your wheels, and we will never ask you to sign a waiver like other companies.
  • Q: I have a Jaguar/LandRover and I have heard that these types of locking wheel nuts are impossible to remove?
A: We deal with these types of locking wheel nuts on a daily basis, like all other locking wheel nuts we guarantee to remove these successfully with no damage!
  • Q: I have a socket stuck on my locking wheel nut after a failed removal attempt, can you help?
A: Yes, we have a specially designed tool specifically for this instance. If you or someone else has attempted to remove your locking wheel nuts by means of a socket and it's got stuck, we can remove it for you. Give us a call and we can advise you further on this.
  • Q: My local garage said they can try to remove them, why should I choose you?
A: Local garages do not have our custom made tools to safely remove your locking wheel nuts without causing damage. We go out to customers on a daily basis where a local garage or tyre shop has caused damage to their wheel (alloy) and also the locking wheel nut, and still FAILED to remove the locking wheel nut. The cost to repair the damaged wheel (alloy) alone will cost more than our service, and the garage will often fail to remove the problematic locking wheel nut. We Guarantee removal without any damage and have a 100% success rate for over 10 years! So why would you risk using anyone else?
  • Q: Do you supply/repair tyres?
A: Unfortunately not, we don't supply or repair tyres. We only specialise in locking wheel nut removals.
